Title: Mt Wood Products at the Asian Pacific Economic Conference
Summary: The Montana Wood Products Association was part of a Montana Products Showcase at the recent Asia-Pacific Economic Conference (APEC) held at the Big Sky Resort, near Bozeman. This major trade meeting was organized by the U.S. State Department and was attended by hundreds of delegates from the Pacific Rim countries. Montana State University Extension organized the display, which was staffed by Deborah Nash, of MSU’s Montana Manufacturing Extension Center. The Products Showcase garnered plenty of attention from the delegates, which will, hopefully, turn into some commercial orders for Montana made wood products’ companies. If this, or other showcase opportunities arise again, MWPA should make every effort to be involved in the future

Title: Taking the Pulse of Riparian Protection in MT
Summary: What techniques are Montanans using to protect riparian areas? A broad spectrum of Montanans shared answers to this question at ten listening sessions and two focus groups held statewide between January and July 2010. Research and outreach through more than 60 personal interviews followed the listening sessions to flesh out more detailed profiles of instructive “best management practices” (BMPs).

Title: USDA National Roadmap for Responding to Climate Change
Summary: The Roadmap for Responding to Climate Change identifies Forest Service priorities in responding to and implementing related direction in USDA's Strategic Plan, which describes the Department's major programmatic policies. These include working to "ensure that our national forests and private working lands are conserved, restored, and made more resilient to climate change, while enhancing our water resources" and to "lead efforts to mitigate and adapt to climate change."
