ABOUT THE MONTANA WOOD PRODUCTS ASSOCIATION
Promoting the Management of Montana's Forests
The Montana Wood Products Association was founded in 1972 and has served as the major voice for the industry with the media, state government, legislature, and the public. MWPA is governed by a Board of Directors and several Committees: Communications, Legislative and Resources.
MWPA's membership is comprised of companies and individuals involved in all facets of the wood products industry. This includes sawmills, manufacturers of plywood, particle board, fiberboard, pulp and paper, posts and poles, value-added products, and log homes. Also included are timberland owners and managers and logging contractors.
Associate members are those who supply products or services to members or whose businesses are partially or totally dependent on the wood products industry.
MWPA maintains an office in Helena with an experienced, professional staff.
THE MONTANA WOOD PRODUCTS ASSOCIATION IS VOLUNTARY NONPROFIT ASSOCIATION WHOSE PURPOSE IS TO:
Promote wise long-term management of Montana's forests. Furnish opportunities for open discussion and lawful interchange of information concerning all facets of the wood products industry. Accumulate and disseminate information regarding the wood products industry in order to foster the best interests of the industry and the public.
How does the MWPA operate?
Association policies are set by a Board of Directors that includes member company and associate member representation. There are three standing committees including Resources, Communications, and Legislative to represent the industry in specific activities on an ongoing basis. Professional staff members are responsible for implementation of the goals and policies adopted by the Board of Directors.
What can the MWPA do for you?
As a MWPA member you acquire industry, governmental and public relations representation on a day-to-day, year-round basis. The Association, through professional staff and supported by committee activities, works diligently on your behalf.
